PEOPLE in Pendle are being urged to report rogue alcohol retailers which operate illegally following the launch of a round the clock service.

Alcoline is a telephone and online reporting service for residents with complaints or concerns about licensed premises in their area.

The 24-hour service makes it simple for people to report pubs, clubs and off licences which sell booze to children, adults who buy alcohol for under 18s and young people who ask adults to buy alcohol for them.

People are also able to shop rogue retailers which sell booze without a licence or do not operate within the terms of their licence.

The pilot scheme, which will last for a year, is being run by Pendle Council.

People can report problems to Alcoline by emailing alcoline@pendle. gov.uk, calling 01282 661987 during office hours, or 01282 661999 outside of office hours.
