WINTRY weather hit East Lancashire again yesterday as up to two inches of snow descended on the area.
The Met Office warned people to take extra care when driving as the latest bout of freezing conditions halted traffic on stretches of major roads.
Delays were reported on the M65 from Burnley to Nelson, while the A675 through Abbey Village was said to be at a standstill around 6pm.
However, Lancashire Police reported no major collisions.
Forecasters say ice could be a problem this morning but should thaw later with temperatures between four and five degrees Celsius.
Manchester Airport said seven flights had been diverted to other airports and some delays were expected as staff cleared snow and ice from its airfield.
