A NEW partner has been signed up to help run the Scout Moor wind farm, in a £50million deal.
Peel energy has sold a 50per cent stake in the 26-turbine wind farm to London-based Hg Renewable Power Partners, HgCapital’s dedicated renewable energy fund.
At 65MW capacity, Scout Moor is the largest operational onshore wind farm in England and produces electricity for the average needs of 40,000 homes.
Peel Energy and HgCapital expect to extend the Scout Moor joint venture relationship to other projects.
Owen Michaelson, chairman of Peel Energy, said: “We are delighted to have concluded a partnership agreement with HgCapital at Scout Moor wind farm.
“It has been a pleasure working with the team at HgCapital and we are very pleased to now have a financial partner in HgCapital who shares our vision for the delivery of low-carbon energy projects in the UK. We have an ambitious development pipeline for wind and other low-carbon energy projects in the UK.”
