A ROSSENDALE magician is aiming for the big time after picking up tips from international star David Blaine.

Up-and-coming entertainer Adam Dadswell has launched his own business just months after becoming one of the youngest magicians to be accepted into the Magic Circle.

The 20-year-old has already entertained Royle Family star Ralf Little and other celebrities.

And he has also met acclaimed American magician Mr Blaine, who is famous for his endurance events, including being suspended over the Rover Thames in a transparent box for 44 days.

Adam said: “When I first started getting paid for doing what I love I could hardly believe it.

“The great thing about close-up magic is you are not on TV or even on a stage and your audience are sat just feet away.

“You get to make a connection with them and see their reaction first hand, it’s brilliant.

“I enjoy doing this so much that I can’t imagine there will be a time when I’m not involved in magic.”

The Lancaster University MA student is now using his knowledge of ICT and media communications to launch his new business website as a platform for his shows.

Adam, from Brooksbottom Close, Ramsbottom, got the magic bug at the age of 16 when he saw a street magician in Covent Garden.

Since then the entertainer has been soaking up information from books and other magicians as well as practising for up to four hours a day.

The student entrepreneur group Create supported Adam after seeing him in action and has tipped him for big things in the near future.

Create manager Joe Buglass said: “When we first met Adam we couldn’t resist helping him.

“He had made such good progress on his business idea already that we knew he’d be great to work with. I’m sure he’ll be really successful.

“He’s always got a trick up his sleeve just in case you want an impromptu performance.”

Plans are now in place for Adam to film a promotional DVD with the help of the Create group.
