A HIGH school welcomed back summer school leavers to present them with their hard earned awards, certificates and prizes.
Pupils of all ages were also honoured at St Augustine’s annual celebration evening for academic excellence as well as extra curricular activities.
Headteacher Anthony McNamara described it as a “very good year” for the school overall.
He said: “Happy children are more likely to be successful pupils and this summer we achieved what were by far and away the best ever set of GCSE results in the school’s history.
“Our continuing track record for strong academic outcomes and successful OFSTED inspections are bringing immense benefits to our students.
“There is, fortunately, more to school than exams. Alongside their academic studies our young people have thrown themselves into a wide range of extra-curricular, sporting, community and charitable activities.”
