There will be a meeting of the Hyndburn Inter Faith Forum on Monday 19th October.

Members of the forum are invited to attend as well as any person who would like to be involved withthe forum's work.

The main focus of this meeting will be on the major interfaith and multicultural events to be held in Accrington in November 2009 and February 2010.

The meeting runs from 4pm to 5.30pm in the Network Room, Hyndburn Voluntary and Community Resource Centre, Old St James School, Cannon Street, Accrington.

There are two forthcoming events that are at the early planning stage and this is an opportunity for the public to get involved.

The first is Tastes of Hyndburn, to be held on Tuesday November 24th from 10am to 2.30pm.

Food and culture will be shared across mixed communities in Accrington Town Hall. Accrington and Rossendale College, local schools, faith and cultural organisations will all contribute to the event, which is open to the general public.

The second event is an evening of celebrating difference, to be held on Tuesday February 2nd 2010. There will be a meal and multi-cultural entertainment for 160-200 people at Accrington Town Hall.

Damian Duggan, Hyndburn Community Network, said: “Both events are linked and are part of our aim to create an environment where people from different faiths and backgrounds get on well together. "Both events, supported by Hyndburn Community Network, will be organised and run by HIFF in partnership with other organisations including Hyndburn Cultural Association and Step2IT.”
