FOOTBALL fan Joanne Crawshaw does not see “eye to eye” with her colleagues when it comes to Sunday’s derby.

The 39-year-old from Helmshore works alongside 11 claret and blue supporters in the Eye Clinic at Burnley General Hospital who have been giving her some “stick” for being a Rovers fan.

And none more so than receptionist Rita Irvine, wife of Burnley legend Willie Irvine.

Healthcare assistant Joanne said: “I’ve been having a go at them all since they were promoted, saying they’d be straight back down, but now I wish I’d kept my mouth shut!

“Rovers had better win or I’m never coming into work again!

"They all make fun of me anyway because I’ve got a Blackburn accent, but it’s going to be unbearable if Burnley win on Sunday.

“I’ve been a Rovers fan for as long as I can remember, and I used to go to every match in the 90s, before I had the children.”

Joanne will be heading to the match on Sunday hoping her team can win.

If Rita - an original Burnley WAG whose striker husband put the ball in the Blackburn Rovers net for the Clarets in the top flight in the 1960s - has her way, Joanne will be facing even more ribbing after a Burnley FC win.

She said: “Bill will be going to the match as a guest of the Lancashire Telegraph, and I’m sure he’ll be reminiscing about his time with Burnley – we’re both still big fans.

“I’m sure we’ve got a really good chance to have our first away win in the Premier League – and everyone in the eye clinic will be celebrating if we do. Except for Joanne, of course!”
