DARTS players in Clitheroe who set up a disaster fund for the historic Swan and Royal hotel gutted by fire have raised £550.
Terry and Carol Joy lost their business and home in Castle Street when a fire broke out as 170 people enjoyed a 30th birthday party on September 5.
Carol is a keen darts player and a member of three local leagues which are all involved in the fundraising.
Members of the Clitheroe and District Darts and Dominoes team which was based in the hotel before the fire held a fundraising night last Friday at St Michael and St John’s Catholic Social Club, Lowergate.
John Schofield, of the Craven Heifer Darts team, said: “It was a great night and everybody gave generously.
“We played a few charity games of darts and had a lot of fun. We hope that Carol and Terry can put the money to good use.”
The investigation into the blaze is still ongoing.
