A MAN shot by police during an intelligence-led operation into armed robbery in Haslingden has been charged.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Serious and Organised Crime Group intercepted a gang in the Co-op convenience store, John Street, on September 25.
Firearms officers fired a number of shots, with a man later taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds.
Gavin Thomas Noakes, 30, of National Drive, Salford, had been under arrest while recovering, After being discharged from hospital in the past few days, he appeared at Manchester City Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
He was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a loaded firearm on Saturday.
Noakes is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court Crown Square on December 14.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission is carrying out an investigation.
Three other men have already been charged in connection with the investigation.
William Moore, 27, of Phoebe Street, Ordsall, Richard Anthony Walsh 25, of Millview Court, Oldham and Jonathon Walsh 21, of Dob Brook Close, Manchester, have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and possession of a loaded firearm in a public place.
Jonathon Walsh has also been charged with a further offence of possession of a firearm when prohibited.
