DARWEN Brass has scooped four top prizes at a contest in Fleetwood.
Playing Music for a Festival by Phillip Sparke, the band were awarded first prize in their section, with ajudicator Paul Norley complimenting the band on its standard of tuning, direction and overall performance, awarding them 181 points out of a possible 200.
As well as the winning section, Steve Hartley won the prize for the winning conductor, and Dave Thomas took the award for best euphonium player.
Eleven-year-old cornet player Millie Forrest won the award for the youngest player in the contest.
The band are now preparing for their next contest at St Helens on November 15.
