A GROUP of Girl Guides from Burnley have raised £100 for Pendleside Hospice by completing a seven-mile trek across East Lancashire.
The group from St Stephen’s took part in the Rotary Walk from Oswaldtwistle to Burnley during the summer.
After raising £100 through sponsorship, they visited the hospice and presented staff with a cheque. The Guides were shown around the Hospice Day Therapy Unit and told about the services provided which help local patients.
The money raised will help the hospice provide care to local people suffering from cancer and other life limiting illnesses.
Current annual running costs now exceed £2.85 million, of which, more than £2 million has to be raised from fundraising and donations.
