Swedish eurodance maestro Jonas Altberg (aka Basshunter) talks about the perks of his job, being homeless and his dressing room party rider.

WHERE ARE YOU RIGHT NOW?

I’m in the UK for a while. I like spending time here. I don’t miss home really. I’m quite tired of Sweden. I have rented out both my apartments because I want to find somewhere else to love but I don’t know where I want to live. I’m just going to travel around with the tour and if I see somewhere I’ll just set up base for a few months.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW TOUR?

This show is a huge production. We have all put a lot of energy and effort into making it really wicked. I’m still planning a lot of things. I am very spontaneous, so it’s going to get crazy. All the audience will be a part of this concert .

WHAT IS THE SECRET OF YOUR SUCCESS?

Now Your Gone is a very simple song and it’s easy to take to an audience. The music video has such success on YouTube, and I have very good support from the media. It’s a mixture of everything. The girls on the video might help a bit.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT YOUR JOB?

The travelling is the best part and all the people I meet. I get to learn so much about the world. It’s been a very good experience that I can use later on. I don't have any negatives. People ask me what’s the worst thing and I don’t have anything to say. The only thing is you maybe don’t get to see your family so much.

WHAT IS ON YOUR RIDER?

My rider is a very long list. I ask for Coca Cola, water, beer, red wine, white wine, champagne, vodka, Bacardi, Red Bull, Jagermeister etc. It depends how I feel as to what I want to drink. I don’t really need anything else — maybe some sandwiches. I like there to be a nice backstage area. I could party every night but you do have to limit them, don’t you?

HOW DO YOU RELAX?

I like watching movies, playing computer games. Just anything I don’t get much chance to do when I’m working hard on tour.
