A flasher is being hunted in Nelson after two girls were stopped in the street.

Police said the two 12-year-old victims were walking to school along Beaufort Street, between 7.45am and 8am on Monday, when the man struck.

The pair heard a man whistling, according to police, and turned around to see him behaving indecently.

The girls ran away but encountered the same man on Lomeshaye Road, minutes later.

The man is white, around 30 to 40, 5ft 8in tall, of stocky build with shaven blond hair and facial stubble.

He was wearing a navy blue sports waterproof jacket with red stitching.

Det Sgt Charlie Haynes, of Pendle CID urged people to be vigilant, as this was the second such incident in Nelson recently.

He added: “There has been a separate incident within that area some weeks ago.”
