A TEENAGER who was stabbed in Burnley’s Towneley Park two months ago will finally be laid to rest this week.

The funeral service for Louise Evans, 18, will take place at St Thomas’ Church, in Barrowford, followed by a committal at Burnley Crematorium on Thursday.

She was found beaten and stabbed in a secluded section of the park, and police arrested several people in relation to the incident. Two men are awaiting trial for her murder.

In a tribute released after her death, Louise’s adoptive parents Jeff and Lorraine Evans said she was a “dearly loved and treasured daugh-ter”.

The popular teenager attended Park High School, in Colne, until the age of 14, before moving to Haslingden High School.

After leaving school, Louise attended a childcare course at Accrington and Rossendale College from September 2007 until November 2008.

Following her death a shrine, consisting of flowers and teddy bears, formed close to the murder scene in woodland behind Towneley Hall.

Her cortege will leave Alderson and Horans Funeral Home at 12.30pm, and the service begins at 1pm.

Louise’s family has requested donations to Derian House children’s hospice, near Chorley, in lieu of floral tributes.
