A ROSSENDALE pop star faces an anxious wait this weekend to see if she goes to number one.

Pop duo Mini Viva look certain to hit the top ten in the charts since launching their single ‘Left My Heart in Tokyo’ on Monday.

Mini Viva is comprised of Frankee Connolly, 19, from Helmshore and Britt Love, 20, from Newcastle.

Bookmakers Betfred have offered odds of 9/4 that the duo will hit the number one spot this year.

The group is managed by Pop Idol creator and former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller and launched by Xenomania – the song-writing powerhouse behind Girls Aloud and the Sugababes.

Meanwhile critics have been praising the duo’s new sound decribed as “pop with a quirky edge” and NME naming ‘Left My Heart in Tokyo’ as “the catchiest single of 2009”.

Frankee, a former All Saints High School pupil in Rawtenstall was a college drop-out spending her days singing with an amateur girl band until major production company Xenomania discovered her on MySpace.

The duo have already started living the life of the rich and famous, attending celebrity parties and filming their video in LA with the same choreography team as Frankee’s idol, Beyonce.

On Thursday Mini Viva were invited to perform the hit on Radio One’s Live Lounge as well as a cover of Nneka's Heartbeat.

The girls say the name 'Mini Viva' comes from their own nick names for each other. Britt got the name 'mini' after wearing a Mini Mouse style polka dot dress and Frankee is Viva because Britt says she's bright and beautiful.
