From September the use of traffic wardens to patrol car parks and the controversial two-hour short stay parking limit are set to be scrapped. There is no alternative proposed and the council think it will aid traders during the recession.
Of course all this means is that we will revert back to the situation that prompted the introduction of the scheme in the first place. People will hog the car parks for hours or days on end and finding a space will be a nightmare once again. And then someone will suggest we need some parking restrictions. And the music went round and around and it comes out here!
