A LIFELINE support service is appealing for volunteers to help change people’s lives for the better.

Lifeline East Lancashire works with under 25s across Blackburn with Darwen, who are affected by substance misuse.

The service provides young people with opportunities to access mainstream education, training and employment, and maximise their skills and potential for living drug free lives.

They are now seeking skilled and enthusiastic Volunteer Support Workers to contribute to their programmes. Anyone interested in working with people who have been affected by substance use or using their skills to help others and who can spare one half day a week is urged to get in touch.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in Lifeline’s extensive internal training courses and attend some external training courses where appropriate. The service says they are interested in people looking to use or develop skills in sport and fitness, computers, administration, media and group work.
