BOSSES at an industrial plant have defended plans to allow heavy goods vehicles to use the site.
Some residents and a local school have protested against plans to alter conditions on the new commercial premises at Vale Mill, Emerald Street, Blackburn, claiming allowing HGVs will cause parking problems and create a safety hazard for children.
The site is being redeveloped into seven small business units.
Owner Heath Dewar said HGVs had used the site while it was being built over the past 18 months without disturbing residents.
Councillors will vote on the plans tonight.
