CHURCHES across Burnley have united to launch a series of healing rooms in the heart of the town.

Christians from various denominations are now offering prayer for unwell people in Burnley, Pendle and neighbouring towns.

The leaders of the healing rooms are hoping the new service will prove popular in the town.

Gillian Chapman, director of the healing rooms, said: “Healing rooms are a place where people can come and receive healing prayer for any condition.

“They are open to everyone, whether they have any church connection or not, and prayer is offered free of charge by small teams of volunteers who have undergone training and an interview and induction process.

“The sessions are run on a first come, first served basis and no appointments are necessary.” Healings rooms are affiliated to International Association of Healing Rooms who oversee over 1000 healing rooms throughout the world.

Four churches from Burnley and Pendle have supported the new prayer service including Life Church, Kingdom Resource Centre, the Meeting Place and Pendle Community Church.

Gillian added: “We believe the bringing together of Christians from different denominations with a common calling is positive for the church in Burnley and Pendle as a whole.”

Prayer will be available for residents at Burnley and Pendle Faith Centre once a month on Thursday evenings 7.30 to 9pm andat Gannow Community Centre every Wednesday from 2pm to 3.30pm.
