TWO football enthusiasts are bringing together the game’s major brands and firms in a pioneering directory.

George Moss and John Booth are the men behind the Football Trade Directory, which they are spearheading from their office in Eanam Wharf, Blackburn.

And the pair believe their experience at big clubs and their passion for football will see the trade directory succeed.

George held management roles at Preston North End, while John was general manager at the Deepdale club and commercial manager at Stoke City for three years.

The idea for Football Trade Directory is for it to be like the Yellow Pages or Yell.com, but for the world of football.

The directory is produced by George and John’s company Sportsglobal UK, which is also the official marketing partner of the UniBond Laague.

Managing director George said: “It was recognised from the outset that there is a massive business potential in grass roots football and that the site needed to have a significant club database if it was to be of interest to advertiser and users.

”There is such a heritage of football here in the North West as well, with a lot of professional clubs, but a thriving amateur game as well.

“We believe the trade directory can appeal to clubs on all levels.”

With everything listed from county football associations to pie makers to kit manufacturers, the directory aims to link the professional and amateur games.

John added: “In a nutshell the football trade directory puts business in front of clubs and clubs in front of business.”
