PEOPLE living in Stone Hill Drive, Sunnybower, Blackburn, have failed in their bid to get a grit bin.
A resident had lobbied MP Jack Straw and Blackburn with Darwen Council, and presented a petition to the town hall last week.
It said most residents in the vicinity were elderly and infirm and asked for a grit bin on nearby Bank Hey Lane South to be relocated to Stone Hill Drive. But the council has rejected the request, saying the area does not meet the criteria set out in its winter mainten-ance policy.
However bossed said they were reviewing the policy and considering extending the criteria.
