A BUTCHER from Crawshawbooth has found the recipe for success after his bangers were named the best in the North West .
Geoff Riley, of Riley Brothers, Burnley Road, teamed up with Derek Jones, of Heritage Kitchen Range Preserves, Bacup, to create a collection of tasty sausages with a twist.
Geoff began developing recipes using the home-made preserves produced by Derek’s business before Christmas, and now they named the best in the North West at the British Pig Executive Awards for Excellence in Meat Products.
The sausage range includes pork with red pepper and lemon grass chutney and pork with red onion chutney, which both scooped gold gongs at the recent awards.
Geoff’s traditional pork won a silver award.
