A MOTHER has spoken of her anger after her five-month-old daughter’s pram was stolen.

Nicola Pegg said the theft has left her and her baby Sophie stranded – and out of pocket by more than £250.

The theft happened after she left the pram in a courtesy car parked on her drive at the home she shares with her partner in the Brownhill area of Blackburn.

The vandals smashed a side door and pulled down the back seats to get to the boot and steal the Graco Quattro pram, which also doubles as a car seat.

Ms Pegg, 34, who is currently on maternity from her job as a marketing assistant for a Blackburn garage, said: “This is a massive inconvenience. The pram was brand new and it is such a heartless thing for someone to steal.

“The pram is vital for us to get about and the theft was such a shock.”

She said that the theft comes just a month after her Rover 25 was badly damaged in a car crash and her father Joseph died of a heart attack on a holiday to Goa.

Ms Pegg, who lives with her partner Alan Gornall, 33, added: “There is probably not a lot that the police can do but I just hope that someone saw what happened and can help find the pram.

“It was such an unusual incident to happen in this area because it is usually so quite. It has been quite upsetting.”

The thieves broke into the car after smashing a rear passenger window and then forcing a door open. The incident happened early on Thursday.
