A MAN died of head injuries after falling off his chair in a freak accident, an inquest heard.
Paul Killian, 41, was discovered dead at his home in Rossendale Road, Burnley, in July by members of his family.
He was lying next to an overturned kitchen chair.
A hearing at Burnley Coroner’s Court was yesterday told that Mr Killian was on medication at the time of his death and was suffering with depression for the first time in his life.
His sister Jacqueline, who found him at his home, said her brother had been drinking milk and watching his living room TV while sat on a chair in the adjoining kitchen.
A post mortem examination revealed Mr Killian had been drinking alcohol before he fell.
Dr Abdul Al-Dawoud, a pathologist at Burnley General Hospital said the head injuries from Mr Killian’s fall on to the kitchen floor were the cause of death.
East Lancashire coroner Richard Taylor returned a verdict of accidental death.
