AN area of Burnley has got a new police officer with a varied past.

PC Ivan Brown is ready to work with residents and community groups as he pounds the streets of Daneshouse and Stoneyholme.

But PC Brown, who replaces PC Sue Sanderson, is new to policing after previous jobs at Manchester Airport and as an aerospace worker.

He said: “I joined Lancashire Police because I want to make a difference to local communities and in particular to make them feel safer and that is exactly what I intend to do while working as Daneshouse and Stoneyholme’s new community beat manager.”

PC Brown, who is originally from Salford, said he wants to tackle anti-social behaviour, drug use and thefts.
