A HAMPER of local food fit for a prince is winging its way to HRH The Prince of Wales all the way from Lancashire.

The prince has shown his passion for local produce with his support of the third annual Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food and Culture, and now festival organisers are thanking him for his endorsement with an array of Lancashire produce.

In his foreword for the festival programme Prince Charles praised organisers for their hard work with the month long event “encouraging people to sample and celebrate Pennine Lancashire’s renowned warm hospitality and fare.”

Max Steinberg, Chief Executive of Elevate said: “The hamper is a gift to show our appreciation for the terrific support the Prince has given us.

“It’s great that His Royal Highness shares our enthusiasm for making the most of the fantastic culture we have around us here in Pennine Lancashire.”

The hamper has been put together, and will leave Lancashire on its way to HRH, from Huntley’s at Samlesbury.

The festival is hosting an array of events and experiences across Pennine Lancashire ranging from gourmet short breaks, culinary canal cruises and pony trekking picnics to steam train lunches, champagne balloon flights, ale trails and brewery tours.

The Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food and Culture is organised by Elevate on behalf of Pennine Lancashire Leaders and Chief Executives and is supported by six district councils, Lancashire County Council, the Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board and NWDA.
