BURNLEY Council has confirmed it is responsible for the memorial garden in the village, but has no money to replace the coping stones which were stolen.
However, it will raise no objection to the parish council bearing the cost.
Mr Eccles, from Butcher’s Farm, has kindly provided the coping stones, free of charge, and the parish council has instructed a local contractor to securely fix the new stones to the wall.
