A MAN assaulted his mother and a police officer after an early hours fight with his brother, a court was told.
Paul Fraser, 20, was said to have caught his mother when she was trying to break up a brawl between him and his brother and then repeatedly hit the officer when he turned up to arrest him, Burnley magistrates heard.
Fraser, who had been unhappy after his brother went home from a night out and "abandoned" him in Burnley town centre, admitted assault by beating and police assault.
The defendant, of Wasdale Close, Padiham, was bailed until October 1, for a pre-sentence report and was told not to go within 200metres of Coniston Avenue or contact his mother Sharon Donohue.
Geoff Ireland, defending, told the court Fraser pleaded guilty on the basis he had been reckless.
