BARROWFORD Primary School will get a new head at the start of the school year in September.
Barrowford Primary School’s current deputy head Rachel Tomlinson will take over as headteacher after the long tenure of John Hufferdine.
The mother-of-two, who is a maths specialist, said: “I am loving it at Barrowford. The children are super and I am very excited by this appointment.”
The new acting deputy head will be another Barrowford teacher, Michelle Hartley.
Blacko Primary School will also see a new headteacher take up the role from the autumn.
Current temporary headteacher Mark Harrison will step up from the role of deputy headteacher.
When former head Rachel Ormerod left for family reasons, Mr Harrison, who has been at the school for seven years, was chosen as her successor.
Mr Harrison, acting head for the last 15 months, specialises in maths and physical education.
