A lorry became stuck under a railway bridge, causing hold-ups for cars and trains.
There were lengthy traffic tailbacks from Kew Bridge, in Whalley New Road, Blackburn, after the incident around 1.50pm today.
The 38-year-old lorry driver was taken to hospital, but was not believed to be seriously injured.
Precautionary safety checks had to be carried out on the railway line, and the road was reopened after 5pm.
