LAND at Barnoldswick's Letcliffe Park could be turned into allotments.
Coun Harry Purcell suggested the idea at a meeting of the town council.
He said allotments would be an ideal use for the land where the toilets once stood.
Coun Jenny Purcell supported the proposal, saying it would improve the site.
She added: “People working on their allotments would stop youths and vandals hanging around the area.”
However, any change of use could raise planning and ownership issues. The land was designated as "open space" when it was incorporated into the park after Pendle Borough Council came into being.
Councillors agreed that the idea should be put before the council's allotment committee.
A request to keep hens on an allotment on Hardy Avenue, Barnoldswick, will also be discussed by the committee.
Livestock is currently banned on all council-owned land, with the exception of the allotments on West Close Road.
