ADDITIONAL consultation meetings for a controversial proposed bus lane begin this week.
As a result of the response from a meeting held last month, Blackburn with Darwen Council has organised three more to be held at Derwent Hall and Darwen Vale High School.
The meetings will be an opportunity to comment on a proposed new transport scheme, PennineReach, rapid public transport through Pennine Lancashire. The 24/7 lane, which would run between Darwen and Accrington via Blackburn, would be used by a high-tech fleet of buses which would get priority at traffic lights.
The proposed scheme is designed to improve the public transport network between Darwen, Blackburn and Accrington and also between Accrington and Blackburn via Rishton, Great Harwood and Oswaldtwistle.
The additional meetings will take place at: Derwent Hall, tomorrow, 6pm-8pm; Darwen Vale High School, Monday, July 14, 6pm-8pm; and Derwent Hall businesses only event, Wednesday, July 16th 6pm-8pm.
To book a place at the business event, call 01254 588130.
