OUTREACH health services will extended to Darwen from Monday.

Blackburn with Darwen Teaching Primary Care Trust (tPCT) and Blackburn with Darwen Council are working together to make healthcare advice and support even easier to access.

The Patient Advice and Liaison Service, PALS, and the Primary Care Complaints Team have combined their services to form a local customer services team.

The team will spend half a day each week at Darwen Town Hall so people can drop in for information and advice.

The tPCT outreach service at Darwen Town Hall takes place every Monday from 9.30am to noon.

The drop-in sessions have been deliberately selected on the popular market days.

Judith Griffin, tPCT chief, said: “The PCT Customer Services Team can be extremely useful for everyone.

“Whether you have a question about health or your own healthcare, or if you want to make a suggestion on how we can improve our services, the team are here to help.

“We want to make our services more easily available and by putting the team in the town centres, we hope that more people can benefit.”

The public can already phone free to the tPCT on 0800 0155330 or e-mail enquiries@bwdpct.nhs.uk to ask advice on any healthcare issues, or to give comments and suggestions for improving their healthcare.
