A NELSON plumber turned his garden into a putting course to raise over £1,000 cash for the International Aid Trust.
Edward Padgett, of Lowercross Farm, set up the 18-hole course to enable orphanages to go to holiday homes in the Ukraine for a fortnight break.
He said: “I heard about the homes because they needed plumbers over there to mend toilets and such like.
“The homes have 200 beds and the kids go over, get re-dressed and have a good holiday for two weeks. This time will be my fifth trip over.”
Eighty people took part, but the adult winner was Roger Whalley and the junior winners were Daniel Collinge, aged 14 and Ellie McGuigan, 11.
