GET ready for a riot of colour and noise when the internationally-acclaimed Lady Boys of Bangkok burst onto the East Lancashire theatre scene.

The show, which combines the heady spice of Bangkok's exotic nightlife and the glamour of Las Vegas, features 16 of the world's most beautiful showgirls... who just so happen to be men.

It is coming to Burnley Mechanics on Tuesday, November 25 — a major coup for the theatre, as the show has been performed on some of the world's biggest stages.

Audiences will be blown away by the stunning looks and sexy dance routines of the performers in the outrageously extravagant and witty show, in its 10th successive touring season.

Devils and Angels is the title of the new show — billed as "hotter than Hades with a galaxy of heavenly bodies” and it will include non-stop hits from Bassey to Beyonce.

Ever since they first appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe in 1998, the Lady Boys have prompted headlines and won new fans wherever they have toured.

They were a runaway success in 2007 when they wowed audiences in a huge purpose-built marquee at Manchester's Lowry Theatre.

Theatre manager Kirk Worley said: “The Lady Boys of Bangkok has toured the world's major arts and cultural festivals to critical acclaim so we are very excited to be able to bring this show to Burnley.

“I think it says a lot about how the theatre and the arts in Burnley have progressed tremendously in the past five years that we are now able to attract such huge international cutting edge box office hits.

“The Lady Boys is comedy and cabaret in a class of its own and will most certainly help to enforce The Mechanics' profile as one of the North West's most important entertainment venues.”
