A new butcher and deli will soon open its doors at Accrington Market.

Holden & Son, Chop House & Deli is the creation of Lee Holden, who trained as a butcher and has spent the last five years working as a chef at venues including The Hapton Inn and The Aspinall Arms.

The shop will specialise in premium British meats, thick-cut chops, dry-aged steaks, and a wide selection of beef, pork, and poultry.

Mr Holden said: "I'm absolutely buzzing to get going.

"Accrington Market is such an exciting project and it's been fantastic to see the space and what it's going to become.

"Having trained as a butcher in Accrington, it means a lot to be opening my own business here, and I can't wait to bring some Cuban flavour to the market alongside everything we'll be offering at the chop house and deli."

It will also offer a selection of artisan charcuterie, including prosciutto, Spanish chorizo, and bresaola, as well as olives and gourmet deli items.

A Cuban sandwich, prepared using in-house cured pork, Swiss cheese, and pickles on ciabatta, will feature on the menu, blending Mr Holden’s culinary and butchery experience with a personal connection through his Cuban wife, Lily.

Cllr Clare Pritchard, Hyndburn Borough Council’s portfolio holder for transformation and town centres, said: "It's fantastic to see a local lad who trained as a butcher in Accrington now opening his own business at Accrington Market.

"Lee has some really exciting plans for Holden & Son."
