A Burnley chippy that featured in a Peter Kay show has been praised by reviewers.

Banny’s Drive-Through and Restaurant, on Trafalgar Street, featured in Peter Kay’s Car Share in 2016, bringing its drive-through fish and chip restaurant to television viewers.

Peter and co-star Sian Gibson visited the business while filming the programme.

Fish and chips are the star of the show, but other menu items include burgers, kebabs and loaded chips.

Reviewers have commented on the food, service, seating, parking and the range of options available.

A reviewer said: “Delicious and fresh fish and chips. Offers a variety of fresh gluten-free options, which is a bonus. Yummy fresh onion rings and a quick and friendly service.”

Another reviewer said: “Fantastic fish and chips! The fish was fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and flaky inside. The chips were thick, hot, and perfectly cooked.”

A further review said: “Excellent, delicious and tasty! Not greasy at all, so it’s really nice to eat and so airy and light! Lovely seating too and quick service. Plenty of parking.”

One reviewer said: “I’ve been here a few times, and I got to tell you it is really good. I always get the tikka-flavoured fish, and it’s amazing, and the chips too.”

A reviewer who stopped while visiting Burnley said: “Lovely, clean restaurant that is themed. Food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious.”

The same reviewer added: “Probably the best curry sauce I’ve ever tasted. Huge onion rings."
