A pub has closed for a £270,000 refurbishment.
The Guild Merchant in Preston shut its doors on November 2, and will reopen on November 25, as part of its transformation into a 'Grandstand' sports pub.
The revamp includes the installation of large screens, a state-of-the-art sound system, and tiered seating to create a stadium-style atmosphere for sports fans.
Sacha Camilleri, operations manager at Marston’s, said: "We will have some amazing new technology, food and drink offers and events, and we want as many local people to be featured on our walls as possible.
"We can’t wait to welcome all our regulars and some new faces in, to see the new and improved Guild Merchant."
The beer garden will also be upgraded, featuring new outdoor TV screens.
Customers will be able to order through the Marston’s Order & Pay app to avoid missing any of the action.
In a nod to the community, the pub will be decorated with local sports memorabilia, and residents are encouraged to contribute photographs and items celebrating Preston’s sporting history.
The Guild Merchant is close to Ashton Park and Conway Park Woods.
Following the refurbishment, it will broadcast a wide range of sporting events including football, rugby, cricket, tennis, F1, darts, and horse racing.
Dartboards and pool tables will return, alongside new competition leagues and free-to-play sessions.
