A man has been charged with multiple shoplifting offences following a series of thefts in Preston.

Christopher Moran, 58, of no fixed address, was arrested on November 4 and has been charged with eight counts of theft from a shop and seven counts of breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order.

The charges relate to alleged incidents at shops including Booths and Sainsbury’s between September and November.

Items reported stolen include boxes of chocolates, washing pods, alcohol, and a power bank.

Moran has been remanded in custody and was due to appear before Preston Magistrates’ Court on November 5.

The arrest follows an investigation by Preston’s Neighbourhood Policing Team.

The case forms part of Operation Vulture, Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county.

The operation is supported by Lancashire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Clive Grunshaw.
