More than 2,500 suspected fake goods have been seized from a shop in Accrington following a joint operation by Lancashire Police and Trading Standards.
Officers and Trading Standards visited the premises on Blackburn Road on Friday, October 27, after receiving reports that the shop was selling fake clothing.
Inside, they found and seized more than 1,800 garments, including coats and tracksuits, all bearing designer branding.
Other items confiscated included 333 bottles of perfume, 145 pairs of trainers, 215 sandals with designer branding, 221 items of counterfeit make-up, and a variety of sunglasses, bags, hats, and badges.
Sarah Frankland from the Hyndburn Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "The sale of counterfeit goods is far from a victimless crime.
"While these items may appear to be a bargain, they can often be poor quality, unsafe, and leave consumers out of pocket.
"Counterfeit products also harm legitimate businesses that work hard to trade fairly and contribute to our local economy.
"We would encourage anyone with information about the sale of counterfeit goods to report it to us or Trading Standards so we can take appropriate action."
The seized items will now be examined by Trading Standards as part of their ongoing enquiries.
Councillor Joshua Roberts, cabinet member for rural affairs, environment and communities at Lancashire County Council, said:
"There is no place for counterfeit goods in Lancashire, and this seizure of more than 2,500 items shows we will take action against those who sell them.
"Fake goods can put consumers at risk and undercut honest businesses.
"Our Trading Standards officers will continue working with Lancashire Police to disrupt this illegal trade and protect our communities.
"Anyone with information about the sale of counterfeit goods can report it to Trading Standards via the Citizens Advice Consumer Service on 0808 223 1133."
