Jayden Fevrier has only been at Blackburn Rovers for a matter of months – but the winger is already starting to feel at home.

Fevrier joined from Stockport County at the back end of pre-season to bolster Tony Mowbray’s options in the wide areas.

The 23-year-old had to be patient at times due to Ryoya Morishita and Dapo Afolayan’s form, but he has now started three successive games in the Championship.

“Someone reminded me that it’s only been three months since I signed but it feels like I've been here ages,” he said. “Everyone has been really good at helping me settle in, I'm happy.

“I have been in different environments, different changing rooms. I feel like this is one of the best that I've been in terms of team cohesion and everyone is really together.

“Everyone laughs and jokes together, but we know that we are all ready to fight for each other on a Saturday when it needs to be done.”

Mowbray gives his attacking players the freedom to express themselves on the pitch and make their mark in the final third, and Fevrier is enjoying working under the head coach.

“It's been great,” he added. “He just wants me to come here and be positive, forward thinking, create chances and just do what I'm good at.

“It is good when you have a manager that backs you and wants you to do your things, and I don't have any fear of playing. A lot of that comes from the manager.”

Fevrier had a taste of Championship football during the second half of last season when he was on loan at Charlton Athletic.

The wide man made 11 appearances for the Addicks, scoring in a win against Hull City, to help Nathan Jones’ side beat the drop.

Fevrier reckons that experience has helped him with the transition to Rovers, already knowing what to expect in the Championship.

“I gained some experience from playing in the Championship last season,” he recalled. “I'm a fast learner so I was able to adapt to the league quickly.”

Rovers were also battling relegation last season, and they were written off by many before a ball had been kicked this term.

Despite back-to-back defeats against Swansea City and Stoke City, it has been a productive start to the campaign since Mowbray’s return to Ewood Park.

“People are entitled to their opinions and they are always going to have something to say before and after the final whistle, but we know that we just have a job to do,” said Fevrier.

“Just listen to what the manager wants from us and play the way we want to play. Ultimately, we know what a good team we can be so we just have to keep doing that, pick up performances and results as a team.”
