A children’s day nursery and beach school has been sold to new owners.

Nanny Plums Nursery, based in Thornton-Cleveleys and established in 2016, has been acquired by Justine Gilbert, owner of Willow Nurseries in Liverpool.

The sale was managed by Christie & Co and follows the decision by founder Caroline Morton to explore new business opportunities.

Ms Morton said: "Selling my beautiful nursery wasn’t an easy decision, but Christie & Co made the process easy.

"Thank you particularly to Sofia, who was amazing."

Located in Victoria Road West, the nursery cares for up to 36 children aged nought to five and operates from a converted three-storey property.

It offers a large open-plan playroom, a baby room, a sensory room, and an outdoor classroom.

The nursery is popular within the community and maintains a waiting list.

Sofia Beck, director of childcare and education at Christie & Co, said: "Nanny Plums Nursery generated strong interest from both existing operators and new entrants to the sector, reflecting the quality of the setting, its excellent local reputation, and its unique beach school offering.

"Caroline has built a fantastic business that is deeply embedded within the local community, and it has been a pleasure to support her throughout the sale process.

"We are delighted to have secured a successful outcome and are equally pleased to see the nursery acquired by Justine Gilbert.

"With her proven experience in the childcare sector and passion for delivering high-quality early years education, I am confident she will be an excellent custodian of the business."
