A string of restaurants across the Ribble Valley and East Lancashire have been recognised in the latest Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards, with Northcote leading the way after being named among the platform's Best of the Best restaurants.

The awards are based on reviews and ratings submitted by travellers over 12 months and recognise businesses that consistently deliver high-quality experiences.

Tripadvisor praised the Michelin-starred Northcote, near Langho, for combining exceptional food with stunning scenery.

The platform said: "Be prepared to take in stunning garden and hill views when visiting Northcote Restaurant in the Ribble Valley.

"Not to be outdone by the scenery, the tasting menu shines, pairing perfectly with local cocktails.

"A full menu of vibrant dishes, including dessert (highly recommended), served by attentive staff rounds out the elegant experience."

A number of other Lancashire venues also featured among Tripadvisor award winners.

Among them was The Black Bull in Old Langho, which received a Travellers' Choice Award.

Tripadvisor described the Grade II-listed venue as being "tucked away in rural Lancashire" between hills and fields, praising its warm atmosphere, extensive wine selection and dog-friendly welcome.

The pub thanked customers after receiving the recognition.

A spokesperson said: "The Travellers' Choice Awards honour travellers' favourite destinations, restaurants, hotels, things to do and beyond, based on the reviews and opinions collected from travellers around the world over a 12-month period.

"It recognises businesses that earn consistently great reviews, and its winners are among the top 10 per cent of listings on Tripadvisor.

"So, a huge thank you to everyone who has visited us, whether joining us for dining, drinking or attending any of our events and gave us a positive review. We are extremely grateful."

Also honoured was Scholars Training Restaurant in Blackburn.

Tripadvisor highlighted the student-run restaurant's four-course lunch menu, which includes a plant-based option for £17 and is prepared by hospitality students under the supervision of industry professionals.
