Tony Mowbray is left frustrated by points Blackburn Rovers have left on the table despite their positive start to the season.
Rovers have 15 points from their first 11 games but have also had plenty of games where the head coach feels they should have taken more.
West Brom was the latest, having led 2-0. It means in their four league defeats, they've scored first in three. In total, they have dropped 13 points from winning positions.
Mowbray felt his side became too content with trying to protect their lead, rather than going for the third goal which may have killed off the match.
"People have been asking me about the points return and saying we have to be happy with it, no not really," Mowbray insisted.
"From winning positions we've dropped points, a lot of points really. Over 10, I think 11 points (sic, 13) we've maybe dropped from winning positions.
"I think football has a balance, doesn't it? How positive you want to be, how much you want to play on the front foot. That's why I think ultimately we ended up with nothing to do.
"The mindset became protect what we've built up, and their mindset became let's go chasing what we've lost to goals. Trying to change the mindset at half-time obviously didn't work.
"There were some positives; we had some great goals again. I just want a better mentality, and never be happy to settle with it, just keep pushing and keep going.
"It's easy to say that, because they're human beings with a mindset that they want to protect a 2-0 lead.
"Then when it goes to 2-1 you feel there's only one goal; they've got 45 minutes to get one, and if they do it's going to be really difficult; the pressure's going to be huge.
"To try and get them to play on the front foot again, like we had in the first 15-20 minutes. I think there were opportunities for us to score again at the right moments, but it didn't come."
Mowbray was particularly angry at the West Brom winner, with Rovers failing to defend their box despite outnumbering their attackers.
He relayed that in the dressing room after praising the players for good performances in recent games.
"It gave me probably the first chance to have a bit of a dig at the team today, the mentality," Mowbray admitted.
"I've given them a lot of praise over the last couple of weeks, some really good performances and good victories.
"I think we've got some players who are still learning the game, still developing, still young boys who are doing well and taking a lot of praise, but really you've got to learn that they're playing in a man's game.
"My frustration with the third goal is that we've got five men against two in the six-yard box and they win two headers.
"Two of them are big centre-halves, six-foot-three, six-foot-four, and we need to make first contact.

"I think it's right to let them know what I think sometimes, as opposed to telling them how great they are every week, because that was frustrating.
"You have to stop it as the ball's coming in the box and we've got five men surrounding two, and yet they win one header and then they win another header and they score, so it shouldn't happen.
"It's probably harsh on the centre-halves, because that's where I played for 20 years, and I'm 100 per cent positive I would have made first contact and the cross came in.
"You've got to use your body, as I've talked about at the start. You've got to knock people out of the way without fouling them. Use your physicality to defend the ball as it comes in the box, and we didn't do that very well today."
