An Altham pub that was forced to close after major flooding has revealed when it could reopen.
The Walton Arms, located in Burnley Road, has been shut since July after a burst water main caused extensive damage to both the ground floor and cellar.
Specialist cleaning, sanitisation, and restoration work has been underway, with the extent of the damage requiring major repair and refurbishment works.
A spokesperson for The Walton Arms said: "We want to say a massive thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support while The Walton Arms has been temporarily closed.
"We’ve missed you terribly, and we honestly can’t wait to get those doors back open and welcome everyone home."
The pub has had a few enquiries recently about Christmas bookings and is now feeling optimistic about reopening from December onwards.
A spokesperson said: "We’ve had a couple of meetings regarding the timescale for our refurbishment and reopening.
"Things are looking more than positive, and we’re feeling confident that we’ll be open for the full festive season.
"We’ve already been busy behind the scenes getting our Christmas menus ready, including our festive Fayre Menu running throughout November and December, as well as our Christmas Day menu and some other special festive events."
The team is waiting until a firm reopening date is confirmed before taking any bookings.
The spokesperson said: "We’re not quite at the stage of taking bookings or deposits just yet.
"We don’t want to take anyone’s money until we have a confirmed reopening date agreed with our contractors, but we’re really encouraged by how things are progressing."
The pub first closed its doors in July due to a burst water main that impacted the pub, restaurant and cellar.
A spokesperson said at the time: "Due to the water main burst, our pub and restaurant areas suffered significant flooding throughout the entire ground floor and cellar yesterday evening.
"We are currently assessing the damage while specialist cleaning, sanitisation, and restoration work is underway.
"Unfortunately, the flooding has caused extensive damage throughout the building, and major repair and refurbishment works will be required.
"As a result, we will be closed until further notice while these works are carried out."

The statement also thanked customers for their understanding during the closure.
The spokesperson said: "We’re absolutely gutted, but our priority now is getting everything repaired safely so we can welcome you back as soon as possible.
"Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and continued support."
