A Blackpool fish and chip shop named among the UK's best is earning praise from diners, with customers hailing its "fantastic" food, freshly cooked fish and homemade pies.

Lily's Traditional Fish and Chips, in Foxhall Road, has been highlighted by The i Paper as one of the best places in the country to enjoy a traditional chippy tea.

The popular takeaway, which also has seating inside, has impressed visitors with its generous portions, reasonable prices and friendly service.

It holds a 4.6-star rating from 381 reviews on Tripadvisor, where it has also received a Travellers' Choice award for 2026.

One diner described their visit as a "fantastic fish and chips shop in Blackpool", adding that the homemade meat pie was "fantastic" and praising the "happy staff".

Another customer was equally impressed after stopping by the shop near Blackpool's Central Pier.

They wrote: "Lovely little takeaway fish and chips shop, that you can also sit inside!

"A very casual restaurant, but service was quick, salt, vinegar and ketchup on the table. Clean and nice bathrooms.

"Fantastic location, right near central pier. And food was excellent! Especially the homemade pie and chips!"

Fresh fish and well-cooked chips were also highlighted by another visitor, who said their family had thoroughly enjoyed their meal.

They wrote: "My family all had fish & chips and they loved it. Fresh fish, not greasy and very tasty.

"I had the homemade steak pie and chips; it was really tasty. Not overpriced like most of the seafront chip shops."

The diner also praised the cleanliness of the facilities, concluding: "Overall very impressed."

Other visitors have praised the shop for its quality and value, despite the fierce competition among Blackpool's fish and chip shops.

One Tripadvisor reviewer said they had researched their options before deciding to visit Lily's.

They wrote: "There's a lot of competition in the area, but having done my research, Lily's jumped out as a good choice.

"Ordered the haddock, chips and scampi with peas and curry. Did not disappoint, delivering on quality and value for money. Well impressed and I'd definitely visit again next time I'm in the area."

The shop's reputation has also attracted national attention, with The i Paper singling it out in its guide to finding the best fish and chips in Blackpool, a seaside town with more than 80 chippies to choose from.

The newspaper recommended looking beyond the busy seafront and heading to the town's back streets, describing Lily's as a "cheery sanctuary" and praising its golden chips and sizzling cod.

With its combination of traditional fish and chips, homemade pies and affordable prices, Lily's continues to stand out among Blackpool's many options for a classic chippy tea.

The shop can be found at 10-12 Foxhall Road, Blackpool, close to Central Pier.
