Four men charged with an alleged knifepoint robbery of two sex workers at a Great Harwood brothel have appeared in court.

Talat Hussain, 25, of Whalley New Road, Blackburn, Luke Croft, 30, of Willows Lane, Accrington, Umair Mohammed, 19, of Reed Avenue, Great Harwood, and Adam Akram, 22, of Cedar Street, Blackburn, appeared at Preston Crown Court on Wednesday (October 7).

The four all face two charges of robbing a female of a purse containing £1,400 cash, a passport, jewellery, a bank card, and mobile phones.

Croft and Mohammed are also charged with possessing a knife in Blackburn Road, Great Harwood.

The men were due to enter their pleas to the charges at the plea and trial preparation hearing on Wednesday.

However, the case was adjourned to a pre-trial review on January 14, where it is expected the pleas will be entered on that occasion.

Hussain, Croft and Mohammed were remanded in custody and Akram was remanded on bail.

A previous hearing at Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard the two female victims both lived in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
