One of Blackburn's biggest restaurants said it is looking forward to welcoming more diners after the reopening of King George’s Hall.
Scaffolding and parking restrictions in the area have been a common sight for over a year.
King George’s Hall has undergone a multi-million-pound transformation and reopened for the first time last week.
Akbar’s is located next door and has been one of the businesses which were directly impacted by the ongoing works.
Following the removal of the boards and with parking restrictions lifted, management said they had seen a marked increase in customers.
Manager Mohammed Mohsin said: “It is great King Geroge’s Hall is back in the open again.
“It is great to see the building work all finished.
“We have been open throughput the period but it is really wonderful to have people flocking back to King George’s Hall.
“It really helps us and all the other local businesses round here.
“Last weekend we were busier than normal with people popping in before and after the show.”

The restaurant said it is offering anyone visiting King George’s a free first round of drinks.
It also wanted to remind people that it had a free dedicated car park around the corner on Duke Street.
Mohsin said: “We want to support the town centre and it is always good to give something back.
“We would like to thank all our regular diners for their support over the past year.
“We are looking forward to the Christmas period and are taking bookings for parties already.”
Akbar’s officially opened in Blackburn town centre in March 2024 following a £400,000 transformation.
The renowned chain of Indian restaurants took up the location inside the former Blakey’s Café and EastZEast spot.
The restaurant brand is famous for kahari dishes and authentic meals which have seen it win numerous national and international awards.
