A Lancashire Police officer has been dismissed after a misconduct panel found he used excessive force and offensive language while dealing with a detainee.

PC Ahmed was dismissed without notice following a misconduct hearing held at Ormskirk Police Station between September 21 and 23.

The hearing examined allegations relating to an incident on March 8, 2024.

It had been alleged the officer used excessive force and offensive language while dealing with a detainee and had breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour.

The misconduct panel concluded that the conduct amounted to gross misconduct.

As a result, PC Ahmed was dismissed without notice.

His details have also been added to the College of Policing's Barred List, preventing him from serving as a police officer in the future.
