A pub in Buckshaw Village has closed to undergo a six-figure makeover.
The War Horse, a Hungry Horse pub, temporarily closed its doors to the public from October 5 for renovation work.
The pub is now gearing up to welcome patrons back later this month, showcasing a new look and feel.
The refurbishment has transformed the pub’s interior into a more open-plan layout with improved accessibility, aiming to cater to groups of all sizes who wish to enjoy a drink or meal out.
The War Horse, located in Buckshaw Avenue, is also set to be enhanced with vibrant décor, lighting, and comfortable new furniture.
The toilets are also set to undergo a complete refurbishment.
Sports enthusiasts can look forward to an improved offering at the pub.
A second competition-standard dartboard has been introduced, and there are now upgraded TV screens and sound systems.
These enhancements aim to elevate matchday experiences as live fixtures will be shown on Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
The War Horse’s outside space has also been refreshed.
New garden furniture, planters, and additional seating have been added, creating a welcoming environment for alfresco drinks and dining.
Guests can browse menus and book ahead for the reopening via the Greene King app.
Ahead of its reopening, The War Horse is hiring new team members, with a range of front-of-house and back-of-house opportunities available.
The pub, part of the pub company and brewer Greene King, is expected to reopen towards the end of the month.
